\nKoishine makes personalised keepsakes and home decor: clear acrylic photo frames, ornaments, memorial pieces and holiday decor, each made for one person and one moment. You send a photo, a name, a date or a few words; we turn them into something that can stand on a shelf or hang on a branch for years. Every order is made after you place it and shipped from the USA, free, to the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
\nThe name joins two ideas. The koi is a fish long associated with patience, devotion and quiet endurance; it swims slowly, lives a long time and comes back to the same still water. Shine is the light that catches on a polished acrylic edge, on the surface of a pond, on a photograph you have not looked at for a while. Put together, they describe what we hope a keepsake does: it stays, and it catches the light now and then. Our logo, a single koi curving above one ripple, is drawn from that thought.
\nOur range is built around a small number of materials and formats, chosen because they hold a photo or a few words well over time:
\nThe same pieces are grouped by moment too, so that you can start from the reason you are buying: family, pets, a new baby and weddings and anniversaries.
\nEach order follows the same path, and none of it begins until the 24-hour correction window after your order has passed.
\nAll of this usually takes 1–3 business days. Delivery then takes 7–14 business days, so most orders arrive 8–17 business days after they are placed.
\nA large part of what we make is ordered after a loss. We know that the person ordering a memorial frame may be tired, may be organising a service, or may be writing a name they have not typed in a while. We try to make that easier. Our pages use plain words. Our emails do not hurry you. If you need a piece for a particular date, tell us and we will be honest about whether it can arrive in time. If you would rather describe what you want in an email than work through the checkout, we will help you place the order and read your text back to you before anything is made.
\nMemorial pieces are designed to be calm: clear acrylic or plain wood, simple lettering, room for the photo. We avoid heavy black borders, dramatic effects and sentimental phrases chosen for you; the words on the piece should be yours. If you are not sure what to write, a name and two dates are always enough.
\nAcrylic is a clear, rigid plastic that looks like glass but is lighter and far less likely to shatter, which matters for a parcel crossing an ocean. Printed directly onto the panel, a photo sits inside the clear surface, so light from a window passes around it. Clear acrylic gives the floating look; frosted acrylic softens reflections and suits black-and-white or older photos. Acrylic is cleaned with a soft, slightly damp cloth and should be kept away from radiators and fireplaces.
\nBirch is a pale, fine-grained wood that takes engraving cleanly. Laser engraving darkens the wood where the beam touches it, so names and dates appear in a warm brown against the lighter surface. Because wood is natural, the grain and tone of every piece differ slightly. Wood pieces should stay dry and out of strong direct sun, which slowly fades the contrast of the engraving.
\nOrnaments hang from a ribbon or cord, and frames stand on a slotted base or a small easel back, depending on the design. These small parts are packed with the piece so that nothing presses against the printed surface on the journey.
\nWe add a new design only when it does something the existing range does not: a format for a different photo shape, a layout for more names, a piece for an occasion customers keep asking about. Each new design is made and checked as a finished piece before it appears in the shop, so that the preview you see reflects what arrives. We would rather offer fewer designs that hold a photo well than a long list of variations that look alike.

Some shops use pressure to sell. We have decided not to, and it seems fair to say so plainly:

Grandparents ordering a birth announcement frame for a grandchild born in another country. A couple marking their first Christmas in a new home. A family who lost a dog after fourteen years and wants his photo on the shelf where his lead used to hang. We make keepsakes for all of these moments, and we try to keep each one simple: a good photo, a few true words and a material that will last. Each one is made as if it were going to a member of our own family.
\nWe ship to the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand because those are the countries we can reach reliably with free tracked shipping today. If you live elsewhere and would like to order, write to us; we cannot promise a date, but we keep a record of every request when deciding where to deliver next.
\nKeepsakes last longest when they are kept indoors, out of strong direct sun, and away from heat. Dust acrylic with a soft dry cloth, or a slightly damp one for marks, and never use window cleaners, alcohol or paper towels, which leave fine scratches. Wipe wood with a dry cloth only. Ornaments can be stored between seasons in the box they arrived in, with the ribbon tucked so that it does not press on the printed side. Treated this way, a printed photo keeps its colour for many years.
\nThe photos people send us are often the only good picture they have of someone. We use them only to make the order they were sent for. They are seen only by the people making and checking your piece, are never used in our marketing without written permission, and are deleted from our order files 90 days after delivery unless you ask us to keep them for a future order.
